1.6L top end noise

1.6L top end noise?
Was a little to hard on the 1.6 this weekend, and now there is a top end noise?
I've never been into one of these engines always Toyota stuff. What do you guys think it could be? its not bad and doesn't do it until you bring the rpm's up and then let off the gas, then you can hear it tap slightly. Sounds to me to be like a valve and rocker noise. Do these engines have adjustable valve lash. Or could it be worn springs or something? Someone who knows these engines help!!! And thanks

The 1.6L has adjustable valve lash. Very easy to check too. Are you sure it's in the top end? I've had many of the wrist pins float in the pistons and make some weird noises. The 1.6L bottom end is notoriously weak, you'll sling a rod before anything else.

Pretty sure its top end, sounds like a valve or rocker but thought someone might know a common problem that might would helpe out.
Its not loud at all, realy sounds like a toyota top end. They always seem to make noise but this 1.6 ran really smooth and quiet.

Do you happen to know what the lash is supposed to be?

I usually set them all about 6-8 thou. That should do the trick

Nope i can only hear it when rpm's are falling, it might be doing it when rpm's are up but its not loud enough to hear over the exhaust and other engine noises.
Engine still runs very strong, it just wasnt doing this before.

pull 1 plug wire at a time until it goes away. my suzuki does the same thing #4 wrist pin rattle.
