We've been planning this race for over a year and the time is here to spill the beans a little:D

ECORS will be putting up $10,000 for first place in Class C (unlimited) for first place, $1,000 for second, and $600 for third. As more people sign up beyond the minimum, we'll increase the payout for the top 3!
We'll need minimum numbers to meet this but its VERY realisitc. With just our normal ECORS season racers, thats half of the minimum right there! We are limiting the field for each class to 80 rigs so we can actually manage everyone.

Nov 5 at Windrock

Pre-running is Wed and Thursday as well as Friday afternoon.
Friday morning will consist of a Last Chance Qualifier for anyone that hasn't qualified or if their application wasn't accepted already

Saturday morning we will have the UTV race for 4 hrs.
Late Saturday morning we'll start off with Class C, then B, then A. By 4pm, all classes will be out on course (subject to change depending on number of entrants).
Each class will have maps and a course to follow. Checkpoints will be set up so Class C stays on C course, B on its course, and so on.

In addition to the pre-running, LCQ, and race, we will be having various seminars put on by industry professionals. These will start Friday and will cover most anything off-road, such as: shock selection and tuning basics, basic 4x4 driving, advanced 4x4 driving, outdoor/4x4 photography, wilderness first aid, trail and race prep, vehicle recovery, basic fabrication techniques, etc.

OK, so now you are convinced to race or at least attend to watch. Here is how you may go about getting the chance to take a shot at the big $$$
1. be a 2011 ECORS annual member AND race at least 2 races prior to this race
2. Race in an ECORS qualifier race, currently we have the August 27 race in Silver Valley, NC set up as a qualifier race. 3 spots for Class C, 1 for B, 1 for A
3. Fill out an application and send it in for approval. We will have about 30 spots available for teams that choose to go this route.
4. Race in the Last Chance Qualifier race Friday Nov 4. This will be a 1 lap run around the course. We will have 10 spots available here at a minimum. If others are not used then we will add them to the minimum.

Those are your options to get into this race. Remember, if we have 100% max capicity for competitors, I'll say that we'll have a first place prize that will nearly double the posted $10,000! So, start thinking about this race now and make your plans and start prepping your rigs. This won't be a 2 hr race, expect to truly test yourself and your rig if you want any chance of the $10,000!

PM me or shoot me an e-mail if you want more info.

[email protected] or visit our website to check for updates! www.ECORS.com

I forgot to mention...

Class B: $7,500 first place!
Class A: $5,000 first place!

Obviously, the entry fees will be increased to get these payouts, but will be reasonable. Final details are working out this week and we hope to announce more details next week!

I get calls, e-mails, and PMs everyday about this race. If you are considering it, keep an eye out as we'll have the application forms posted on our website soon after the July 9 race. Remember, the race is limited to just 80 cars per class, so when sending in the application form, make it as detailed and "convincing" as possible :)

If you have raced with us in 2011 and you don't see your name on the list, you are either not listed as an ECORS season member or you have not met the 2 race minimum.

Remember, there is 1 race left PRIOR to the Nov 5 race that you can utilize to meet your 2 race minimum. There are a number of teams that must utilize this race to meet the 2 race minimum to have an automatic invite. For others that want to race, the August 27 race in Silver Valley, NC will be a qualifier for the Nov 5 race. So, if you have never raced with ECORS or are not a member, the top 3 that are not already qualified in Class C will earn qualifier postions. One spot is open for the Ironman4x4Fab Class A and one spot is open for the NC4x4.com Class B.

DragonFire Class U qualifiers are a little different. This year there is no UTV membership required. Therefore, UTVs that have raced with us at least twice in 2011 will be qualified. We will also have a LCQ for the UTVs on Friday morning with the trucks. For the Aug 27 race, we will have 5 UTV spots open as a qualifier. So, if you've never raced UTV in ECORS before, you can qualify for the Nov 5 race just by showing up and earning one othe 5 available spots August 27.

DragonFire Racing Class U

Kevin Walker 76
Michael Gilliland 517
Brit Mansel 902
Tim Wyatt 5
BJ Allen 262
Weldon Nutt 226

We will post up an application for registration on the website August 1.

This will NOT be an online registration but payment must be mailed in. For teams that are already qualified, we will have a form for you to fill out and once received, we can send you online payment info if you want to do it that way. But for any new teams that are applying to this race and not already qualified, they will need to mail everything in. The application will be there to "sell" us on your team and should show accomplishments, etc. so we will be convinced you are ready for this race and won't be a trail plug the first 1/2 mile into the race.

Teams that don't get an invite or that are last minute decision makers will be allowed to run the LCQ the Friday before the big race. If we have 20 open spots and 10 LCQ guys, we will still run the LCQ! You will have a time limit on the LCQ and will be 1 lap on the course to prove you and your rig are ready and capable (somewhat...).

We will have starting order for the Main race on Saturday drawn early on and it won't be based on registration order. however, all LCQ guys have to start at the back of the pack.

LCQ will be Friday morning. We will have LCQ registration open September 1. Anyone that applies for the Main but does not get an invite may select to utilize that application for the LCQ. We will notify teams if they are/are not selected for the main and if they wish, they may run the LCQ. The entry fee sent in for the Main will only be accepted if an invite to the Main is issued. Teams MAY utilize the Main application for LCQ registration. LCQ registration and entry fee is $50 for ALL classes. LCQ participants must also be ECORS members. Single event memberships are available for $55. LCQ does not have a prize, payout, trophy, etc. other than to qualify your team for the Main race.

LCQ entry fee is in addition to the Main race entry fee. No refunds on entry fees but credits for future race entries, memberships, or merchandise is available.

Thanks!

Registration and race info has been posted on the ECORS website for this race!

You all will have to print, fill out, and mail in your application for this race!

Info can be found here: http://www.ecors.com/schedule/windrock-coal-creek

We'll post up more information in the next week (payout table, qualified racer registration form, etc.)

You all have until October 1 to send in all your info, we'll notify you no later than October 6 if you have been selected. If you know of others that don't get online much, pass the info on to them! We have a lot of good things planned for this race!

We have posted some spy photos on the ECORS Facebook page. I'll be uploading a few more there in the next day or 2.

There are also photos of the RV sites, cabins, camp sites, etc. It is a very nice setup for anyone that wants to camp. We also have pictures of the electrical RV hookups so you all know exactly what plugs you'll need!

Update on the course: Steep loose rock climbs, long fast straight aways, technical tree dodging, rock crawling, creek crossing, and more. Even if you break on the first lap, there is some nice wildlife to watch We saw no less than 12-16 deer every day, snakes, about 167 turkey, ducks, lizards, chiggers, ticks, swamps on the top of a mountain, beavers, and there is even an elk or 2 that are in the area. That place is so full of wildlife I'm sure if bigfoot existed he is in there too!

The course is going to be fun and FAST! Your gas pedal better work, and be sure to check your brakes, you'll need em' Winches! Be sure you have a good one!

We sent out registration sheets to all of the qualified racers. If you didn't get something, send me a PM ASAP!!!!

4 weeks away!!! Hurry up and send in your info now or get stuck being a cheerleader ;D

LCQ: We've had a lot of guys call and ask about the LCQ. If the Main race isn't full, we will not have the LCQ, you will get an invite into the Main. However, when filling out the Application paperwork, be sure to fill it out completely as you still have to receive and "invite" regardless of how many people register. If the application isn't filled out with some good info, don't expect a phone call or email with an approval to race.

Qualified teams: If you are qualified and ARE going to race or have plans to race, send in your paperwork and payments ASAP. If we stuck to our deadlines, everyone who is qualified except 1 would be running the LCQ, which means all of you are late in sending in paperwork. We need this if you are going to race. We have zero info for a program and it looks like we have to cancel the printing of it because there is only 1 team that has send in info on time. ECORS being prepared and on time is a give and take, we need your info and plans if we are to provide you with the best service possible. Send your paperwork in ASAP.

We will start sending out acceptance letters to teams that have sent in their paperwork. Keep an eye out for calls or emails. If you haven't heard from us, call us or email us.
252-341-2016 or [email protected]

We will also have live coverage of the race starting Satruday morning with text chat. So, if you can't make it in person, at least log on and watch online! www.ECORS.com and we'll have info there for viewing. Live coverage provided by NC4x4.com!

Update:

The Main race for all classes isn't quite at max capacity. Therefore we will NOT have the LCQ on Friday. If you want to race, fill out the "Invite Application" at www.ecors.com and send it in!

Two weeks away! get ready, it's gonna be some nice fall weather at Windrock and some fun racing!

The crew from 4x4 Nation will be out to shoot for some upcoming shows http://4x4nation.net/

Questions? send us an email: [email protected]

Bump for a wicked course! I helped Rob clear trees the last couple days, and I gotta say, it'll be the best race anywhere, EVER. The technical sections will be testing, and the speed sections will be FAST. There's a swampy area in the back that will have a hillclimb, a tight switchback, a rock section, 3 jumps, and muddy creek crossings, all within 300 yards of each other. If you're spectating, get ready to have your adrenaline pump as much as the drivers racing it!
Also, thanks Rob for letting us "test" for you! Had a blast!

About to head out to Windrock. This place is going to be packed. Over 50 racers are signed up and ready to race.
See yall there! :driving:
