I feel like this is borderline too small for my Red Buggy. Being that its full hydro, is it really gonna matter? The interior is getting tight and I just feel like a little more leg room will be needed. Any drawbacks to having a 10inch steering wheel that I am missing? I am not a huge human and don't have meat cleavers for hands. I was about to order and I just couldn't push the order button without getting a second opinion.

When I first bought my Toyota from Jamie, it had a big steering wheel on it. I had to take it off every single time when I got out of it. I laid it up on the dash at the GAP in Auburn one time and forgot to put it back on before heading home. It rode 2 hours on the dash before falling off and rolling down the road off into the median (Chad was behind me and called to inform me my steering wheel was rolling down the road). After that, my dad had a much smaller steering wheel he used to have on one of his old drag cars and gave it to me. I'm not sure what size it was, but it was flat across the bottom and much smaller than the other one, and it was MUCH better. I could get in and out without taking the steering wheel off and didn't take as much motion to steer it. The one thing I absolutely hated was that it had some suade parts on it and that **** annoyed the piss out of me after driving all day with sweaty hands! Felt weird, like rubbing your hand across cardboard really fast. I'd def suggest sticking with a smooth steering wheel, regardless of what size you get!

Get a d shaped wheel for tight areas.

One of the ones I was looking at was a D shaped wheel. Thought that might help too. Disconnect should make it easy enough to get out.

At this point, I think the steering wheel is going to be more than 1/2 way up my thigh. I am just not visualizing it well and that is whats bothering me. I used some cardboard and mounted a dowel rod, but it just isn't the same as having the real deal. Plus, I don't want to order and then have to send it back.

Good to hear and the suede comment freaks me out too. In a car with A/C, I could see it. I think I am going with the 10 inch D.....don't get to say that very often, nor do I want to

I am running an 11" wheel , 5.9 orbital and a 2.5 x 8 cylinder with a 1.5 rod. This = ok steering on the trail or crawling. Going fast it leaves me wanting a bigger orbital valve.
I don't think I will change the wheel but plan to change the orbital one day but it is not terrible.

I bumped up from 10 inch to all options up to 11.5 and found this guy.

Keep in mind that when running a D shaped wheel the flat will not always stay at the bottom if running full hydro.

This is true, mine didn't. Of course something was also bypassing in my hydro system too. If I was on pavement and going around a turn, I had to keep on turning otherwise it just kept going back toward center molaugh

I still haven't pulled the trigger.....damn this shouldn't be that hard. Circular 10 inch and I'll send it back if I don't like it.

I ran a 17 in Whitey and then a 15 and ended up running a 10 and loved it. I could get in and out without using the disconnect. Full hydro made it easy and with the engine off i could still muscle the steering even being drug out of the woods without engine running.

I have it at the shop if youre interested.

You still have the 10? I'd be interested if the price is right. Gotta get an axle shaft from Micah in the next couple of days too.

I figured you still had it. Use it or don't. I still have a spare at the house too. I'm in no hurry to get it if you still need it.

ill bring it from the shop tomorrow

I have a 9inch and I don't mind it. Rocfun hates it! Never drove my rig but he bitches about my wheel everytime he looks at it. :****:
I need a faster orbital also, sometimes I drive up trees...

Regardless of size... getchu a trucker knob for it. Game Changer. Period.
Only if your hydro doesn't have any feedback. I've seen to many dirt track guys with broken wrists from those things.
