1st gen wiring harness

So I have a 1980 toyota 4x4 and when I got it the wiring was a mess and im tired of trying to figure out what all the wires go to. Im picking up a complete harness form an 83 4x4 headlights to tailights with teh fuse box. When I talked to the guy on the phone it sounded like all the plugs are the same style(square plug) that my current 80' harness is.

Anyways is there a big diffrence between the years on the 1st gen wiring? I know Darby had some issues when he swapped cabs but I think one had round plugs and the other had square plugs.

Does anyone have any advice to make the swap go as smooth as possible for me?

So in what ways are the plugs diffrent? Is it the size or the configuration of the wires in the plug itself?

A lot changed from the round headlight trucks to the square headlight trucks. I personally haven't compared the two in about 5 years. But I remember trying to put a 83 harness into an 81 truck. Wasn't worth the hassle
