1TONZR2
Big mudda fugga!
I guess I should finally post up about my rig...
My rig started life as an Ext cab 1996 ZR2 and is still partially that. when I brought it home in 2001 I had a 5" suspension lift on it and some 32s, then the evolution started.
5" BDS suspension lift+2" Body lift and 32" BFG ATs
In 2003 is when I decided the IFS was not gonna work for me anymore, especially after a concrete piling jumped out in front of me and I bent the frame...LOL
at this point, I picked up a pair of Jeep axles D30/D35 that were geared to 4.56s for dirt cheap, picked up some 12" travel FOX coilovers and some links, 35" MTRs on some 15x10s steelies.... torched out the IFS and did the SAS, although it took a few months of workin on it in the evenings by myself and tryin to get my buddy out there to do the welding. I never wheeled it like this, since I never got a front driveshaft put in it. after a few months of DDing it, my national gaurd unit got activated, so it sat in the driveway for a few months.
In 2004 is when the major changes started. I was still still stationed down here in Jax and is when I met up with David and I got the itch for 1 tons....
I picked up a D60 front/rear, left the stock 4.10s in them and left stock trac-lock in the rear and welded the front. I also picked up a new transfer case from Barry (Beast on the board), it is a NP231 w/ Tera Low 4:1, SYE and a wide chain conversion, to use that case I had to get a Novak adapter and a new trans output shaft. we rebuilt the coilover towers, change the link setup to a triangulate 4 link setup and re-worked the steering a bit and of course got some bigger tires and new wheels. 36x13.5x17 Radial IROKs on some 17x9 H2 wheels.
didnt get a front shaft put in right away, but when I got back to Indiana in 2005, I got the front shaft put in and FINALLY did some wheeling! yes, thats right, my truck has been wheeled!
more too come
