stock carb, or weber? Sounds like either the Idle circuits are plugged, or the needle/seat has a bit of debris, causing fuel to leak into carb. First thing to try would be remove the idle mixture screw, and blow a little air into the hole where screw was---reinstall screw in original setting...hope this helps....
