Intake on #1 is stuck open and the valvetrain is making a huge racket. Am I going to cry when I take the head off and look at the top of the piston? It ran for a short period of time like this while I was trying to figure out WTF the problem was.
I wish the person who rebuilt the bottom end had mentioned this "sticky valve" earlier, instead of assuming it would be ok once the motor got some oil flowing.
BTW it's very stuck, possibly bent if I'm seeing things correctly. I couldn't tap it loose from the top.
This project is turning into a nightmare. Got it together and ran it for a few minutes... needs a new water pump, something's wrong with the alternator wiring or the alternator I bought for it is junk, and now this.
