I would go with the 22re, of the Toyota motors. Carbs do suck.As for motor swaps, V8's are cool, but a little large and heavy for the truck, in my opinion. The 4.3 is actually perfect power for the truck, but I am one of "those guys" who likes to keep things simple. The 22re is a reliable, torquey motor. A lot of people want more power, but I like how easy it is to work on the Toy motor, and they are everywhere.
