I have a 22re from a '91 that I'm putting into an '87 4runner, using the wiring harness from the '87 (I know... I like doing things the hard way). The injector plugs are different, but I have the pigtails from a later harness. Can I cut the plugs off the '87 harness and solder the newer ends on? I'd have to figure out what wire is what, because the color's don't match up... but is the resistance and such the same on the newer injectors as the old ones? Also, anybody know what the color code is on the wires... I've got a 50/50 chance if I guess... but I'd rather not...
I guess if I don't get an answer I can just try it, but I don't want to have to rip the top of the manifold off again later to swap to the early injectors.
