22re harness?

ok so the deal is this,
i got a complete 85 22re that came out of a stock solid axled 4runner with an automatic trans. I am trying to put the motorand harness from the 85 into my 89 Runner and i ran into a problem with two plugs right next to the computer that dont match the ones in my 4runner. Do i need to get the dash harness from and 85 to match the motor or can i make this work?

use the harness from the 89 on the engine.

Or cut and patch the plugs if the wire color and locations are the same but just a different shape plug.

If you are even remotely close to an idiot, I recommend the first option.

I believe the extra two are for the auto tranny.
Do the eztra plugs have yellow colored wires?

Get the Factory service manual for both '89 and '85 before you attempt any kind of plug swap. Just cause the wires may be the same color, doesn't mean they do the same thing:awesomework:

Either run the '89 harness or get your hands on an '85 computer and make a stand-alone harness that only runs the engine. Then your factory comp. will still run all other things on your 4Runner.

It all comes down to how much work you want to do.
