Ok, will the 22rte injectors work in a 22re with the 22re ecm? The reason is the spare efi harness I have, has the round oval shaped plugs for the injectors, while the turbo injectors has the square plugs! The turbo injectors will work just fine before the turbo kicks in. So that's got me thinking that the 22rte injectors should work, but I want to be 100% sure when I put this motor back in! I just don't want to be soldering in new wires! Please help!

I'm thinking about getting the injectors I use sent in to be clean and adjusted! So, I need to know asap.

Unless, somebody out here has a good set of injectors for sale! Let me know!

That's what I've been told, but no 100% yeah they will work! White Trash has done this swap a few times, but that was before he went back on the road!

Another thing, should the ecm and O2 sensor adjust the flow on the injectors to help regulate the amount of fuel that goes into the motor?

the ecm does not control the flow. It controls the "on-time".

The larger flow injectors will result in the ecm giving them less "on-time"

flow is controlled by "on-time" and fuel pressure. Which is why they have a vacuum controlled pressure regulator. (to help increase flow rapidly in a loaded situation)

So, your saying that the turbo injectors will work? Since they work fine until the turbo kicks in and then the on time is longer! So, in theory they will work?

So, if the O2 sensor detects it running rich, then the ecm will shorten the on-time? Right? If this is the case then I may just use the turbo injectors.

I'm new at efi and I want to be absolutely 100% positive before I commit to it!

Sure they will, if you use a 22RET fuel map. The O2 sensor is only there for trim when running in closed loop, it cannot make up for a grossly erronious fuel map.

yup yup......--except its a lil more in depth than that but thats the general idea :awesomework:

from my charts i find that if you have the yellow/orange injectors you will probably be ok. If they are pink, no don't use them

22RTE

Yel/ Org = 250cc per min

Pink = 295 cc per min

-------------------------------
stock 22re = 200cc per minute

Yeah, I just got confirmation about the differences! SO, I need 22re injectors for 84-87 years! I've got 88+ and the turbo ones! So, I need the right ones. Anybody got any? How much?

Toyota wants $140 and that's with a discount!
