Its been a long time and for the life of me--I cannot remember on the 22re thermostat. Is there a gasket for the housing or is there supposed to be a rubber grommet around the thermostat that acts as a seal for the housing like the chev vortecs are?

Also as a side note......

:mad: I have spent a bit of time the last couple days finding a new place to get T-stats from.

See I HAVE had problems with cheep stats before. I am very much a "spend the money on good quality so save money down the road" kinda guy.

I have found the Stant brand "Super Stat" to be the ONLY one to use. Other than OEM. The correct temperature is 192 degrees.

Well as it turns out Schucks is no longer carrying them. And the new brand is a reboxed "Moto-Rad" which is a decent company but they call out for a 180 degree as stock. Which is wrong and WILL cause problems Especially on EFI rigs. I also went to Napa, and Auto Zone they both had the SAME part reboxed as their own and said 180. UHG I ended up paying 14.00 for the correct one at a little parts house.

I think I will order up a few from Magic tomarrow. They are only 8 bucks my cost for a Toyota stat that is 192. :awesomework:

T-stats are VERY important and often overlooked or neglected :booo:
I pretty much put in a new one any time I touch a motor. And especially any time I purchase another vehicle to add to my stable.
