2wd tranny swap

I'd like to make my 2wd Yota into an Auto so I can give it to my girlfriend to drive. It's either that and I put money into the 4x4 for myself. Or have to go through the hassel of finding her something. How much of a pain is it? simple? Worth the hassel? I'm tired of driving a 2wd.

No No. Just buy another auto truck. What year truck are we talking? A 2 wheel drive, mid 80s toyota pick up is pretty cheap. If it were me i would not go through the hassle of swaping trannys. OOh, actually the best thing to do here is teach her to drive a manual trans vehicle. You may find yourself replacing a clutch in a month or 2 but atleast she will know how to drive it. This would be best because now you dont have to be the Designated Driver all the time.

well I've been the designated driver for over 6 years now (21 and still no license, she's from NY). And it's a 91. If it's too much of a pain I'll just have to buy her something and I'll be stuck with the 2wd :booo:

I don't think it would be a huge pain but just doesn't seem worth it to tear down your perfectly good commuter truck... Just my opinion though...
