Yes, it can do it. But... It will cause faster wear to the bottom end. You can accelerate and decelerate all day and be fine but when you hold a "no load" speed (steady cruising) you are unloading the bearings and pistons and allowing them to move more causing excess wear. 4.0's are known for a soft crankshaft and for piston slap already. This will increase the wear. Short time driving, i would say go for it. Everyday driving, i would drop the rpm's somehow. Just a professional opinion. ymmv.
