I'm still working on this swap, got some good info here a few months back, cheers all!
Putting what I believe to be a VIN W CSFI 4.3 into my 1985 Toyota 4runner. Bought this motor used and have no more info, it is a 96 and has an EGR valve. Have installed a Howell harness and can't identify this one wire that the previous owner had pulled out of harness and spliced another wire to. It comes from the leg of the harness that carries the check engine light, alt light, TCC switch, etc. to the interior of vehicle.
Any ideas?
A connectivity test indicates this wire terminates at 2 connector pins at the white plug for the ECU, I've marked them with blue pen.
And does the stock charcoal cannister have 2 or 3 hose connections? The Toyota has only 2. The valve in the picture has one unused vacuum connection on the left that obviously needs some sort of connection. The one on the bottom goes to the Toyota canister. My Chilton manual doesn't give enough detail for this. Any help greatly appreciated.
