4.3 Vortec exhaust manifolds

i need the drivers side manifold to exit down instead of back.

the donor motor was a 92 from an S-10 blazer. both collectors point straight back.

anyone know of a specific year model that the collector dumps straight down?

and if possible the dump down would be "between cylinders 3 an 6" instead of at cylinder 6 on the driver side.

i just looked at the headers factory on a montecarlo and the driver side does what i want but its at cylinder 6 insteadof a little forward.

the owner want to swap engines as his is 120 hp and my extra motor is a cpi 190 hp so i might be able to get his for my price.....

but i would still rather have the dump a little more forward...and down. need driveshaft clearance.

Your other option is off an 87 astro--they are a mild steel/tubular manifold that can be cut/welded safely...

I have an Astro manifold pair. One is steel tube. Hip, you can have them and whatever else you want off this thing that's cluttering my garage. I'll look at 'em this evening.

cool glen ill take em. i was looking at the header from the monte and it could be modified to what i need but its in a running car now.

so if i can get the ones you have i could practice......:haha:

make sure the steel is still usable and ill work out a way to get them. mostly i just need the drivers side but if you have both id take em.
