I'm setting up the '83 yota with triangulated 4links front and rear. Is there any reason I couldn't or shouldn't run Ballistic fabrications version of the Johnny Joint on the axle side of the links and then run delrin bushings with chromoly sleeves on the frame side of the links? I'll probably lose a little flex but what are the other negatives?

On my TJ, I run RE joints at the axle on the lowers and bushings on the frame. On the UCA's I run the RE joints at the frame and the bushings at the axle.

It's just my way to reduce stress on the upper mounts.

From what I have been told, you want your flex joints at the axle and your bushings on the frame. Those who are "they" say that this reduces stress on your axle and allows for more flex.

run soft bushings on the axle or it will bind and tear off bracketry, or open up the bolt holes. Gennerally use YJ spring bushings since the OD of the bushing is 1.5" in a peice of .250 wall. All the joints that have used derlin or UHMW seem to become loose over time from past expirence so making a bushing from it will be too rigid and either wear or loosen in a short period. We have had best results with jonny joints or QA-1 heims. I do not want customers coming back all the time having to replace joints.
