behind the drivers seat on the door panel. it would be next to seat belt retractor.

ok try this. When you turn your car on, i mean so theres power but its not started, you should hear the relay click right behind your head on the drivers side. no click = bad realy. If thats the case i have an extra one....

you say theres no power to the switch, did you actually test it or just guessing?

*it could also be the rear latch sensor. i've had that problem before.

* Another thing to check are the bolts that hold the top on. On the drivers side, 2nd bolt from the back window, there is a switch that is activated by the bolt being in there. If the bolts not there, the switch wont let the window go down.

***theres no fuse in the circut for the rear window

HA one last thing. http://4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/RearWindow.shtml

not totally sure about that. I think that if the bolt wasnt in the switch, then it wouldnt send power to the motor, thus not working. but power to the switch, not toally sure.

you dont have the "window lock" button pressed do you?:redneck:

Rear window woes:booo:

There are several sensors that need to be satisfied to roll the window up and down. Often it is that the contacts need to be cleaned.

Wiper has to be up sensor
driver rear corner bolt in top has to be screwed in.
rear door sensor, door has to be up.
maybe lock or key sensor.

So in a nut shell the curcuit has know that the door is up, the top is on, the wiper is where is supposed to be, and I think one more thing with the rear lock/switch.

I think Cisco covered everything. Make sure the switch in the console has a good ground. I'v had this be the problem more than once.

If the relay clicks when you move the switch up and down then there is power to the switch and the relay is being activated. So my assumption is the problem is beyond the relay.

Is the window rolled all the way up?

From the back, hold the wiper up to the sensor above the window. Now, while holding, turn the rear window key.

Also, check and make sure the lock is down on the rear door.

:D

If you get really irritated with it, you can run a jumper to the motor and bypass the whole mess. You just wont have any of the safety stuff to keep you from being an idiot. We ran one of our runners like this for a couple years without any problems. Not saying I did this, but know someone who did, number one rule, dont put the window out when the tailgate is down and then try to close it.:haha:

The relay dosent do anything when the switch is switched the relay only clicks when you first turn the ignition on. And speaking of back windows sucking anyone have a complete working regulator
