I thought i had asked this question before but i can;t seem to find it in my searches and this is the next thing on the agenda, so here goes...

So I have a 14FF that i have converted to disc brakes. so it now has the same calipers and rotors as the front dana 44. I have a chevy LUV body on it and i took the brake booster and master cylinder out, because i know it won't stop the vehicle, plus it was rusted shut

so what would you suggest for a master cylinder and brake booster that is going to have enough power to stop 39.5s with 4 wheel discs, and be compact enough (7 1/2" dia. approx.) to fit in the engine bay of the LUV...???

If you need more details let me know, i'm really lost as to what i should do...

Thanks.

I don't know what the weight of your rig is... but many buggy guys, running 40" tires, run the F350/E350 master M/C with no booster (this is what I am doing)... some guys also run the Scout booster with the F350/E350 MC.. but I don't know the actual size. From what I understand, most double-diaphram boosters as too big to fit in tight quarters.

You should have a look on POR, as there have been many threads on this topic.

hope that helps...

thanks monkey:awesomework: ya i really am a noob when it comes to brakes, so some run it without a booster? strange to me. maybe my terminology is off, but that is the large round thingamabob right? :redneck:

i might be able to modify it a little to fit a few inch larger one in but it will then pose a problem to my steering...

i have this same thread posted up on POR right now...:awesomework: :corn:
