42" SX's are cming to life

ok for eyars this has been going on. looks like finally its going to happen.

Now forgive my ignorance, but why is the SX such a good tire?

I think people have wanted the 42" SX so bad because they couldn't have it. ;D Really, it's a cool tire and i'd rather have it over a regular TSL for the durability but it's nothing that special to me.

IMO they are 3-4 years late to the table with these.

GREAT tires in Disney and Hot Springs where **** is sharp. Great for recreational wheelers that don't have a comp rig, or the green for stickies that are popular now. Damn tough tars. In other/most areas I think Maxis and BFG have too much of an edge. dunno

This tire will probably run crazy small like the other SX's and only measure 38". The best thing they have done is make stickies affordable and buyable for the general public. That is somethign that Maxxis and BFG need to do if they want the general public to run their tires. The popularity of stickies is not going away, once people see how well the work they are sold on them

I have had 2 sets of SXs and I managed to tear up a sidewall once on a root. The sidewalls are tough as hell though. Basically, it is a TSL with a reinforced sidewall.

I like the sound of the 43x14.50x17 tire.

Get a short run with sticky compound and you would have a sweet tire for the boulders.

I may get a second set of tires for Disney/hot Springs. Those places are murder on tires. Murder.

Aren't those things heavy as balls Neway???

Was gonna post a pic... But can't download it at work, lol

Just look up Elaphantiasis of the scrotum on Google image... :flipoff1:

Daniel tried to order a set today and they told him it would be April or May before he could get a set.

I think this tire will cause many people to learn about reciprocating mass

LTBs, Boggers, 44" swampers....all of those tires are way heavy.

What is REALLY bad is 20" wheels. That is a TON of mass to get rolling and stopped.

I ran them for a weekend once and I could not get them off fast enough.

SX's got an early following because they were one of the first tires out there with any kind of side wall lugs and traction. I think they look great but they just bombed by not keeping up with the competition. I ran a set for awhile then sipped boggers then blue Krawlers and now red krawlers. There is no backing up. You just can't go back on traction.
