#4429 Travis Watford gets faster at Right Side Performance...

Travis brought his few season old CJ "I don't need a buggy" down to the shop a few weeks ago for a face lift...er...ass lift I guess...

The biggest issue was cleaning up the rear end. The rear of his rig had been built with the radiator behind the seats which, with his new power upgrades in his motor, was beginning to fall short in the cooling department. With the radiator placement the fuel cell had to be pushed back further in the chassis resulting in very little cargo room.

Other issues to address:
-New rear 14 bolt (the old one was smiling at us)
-Wedge in some new FOA 2.5" Bypass shocks
-Get the radiator up in clean air behind the seats
-Make some room to haul some junk

So here's what we came up with.

New 14 Bolt with a new reworked rear supension.

We installed a cool shave kit from Kelly...right?...it's yours isn't it?

New radiator mount...

Disclaimer: Yes there is another very similar radiator mount on another car being built here right now. My mount was in my CAD software before theirs was ever posted. I didn't blatantly steal their ideas I swear. That and mine has bitchin' cool numbers in it so it's better already.:flipoff2:

Along with a shnazy new screen to keep the rocks out of the radiator when he's making a pass on your ass.

I had the rear end cut out nicely with the original tubing in the rear and was proceeding nicely when Travis stopped by and told me to cut it off. He decided on the rear bumper style like I've done on the last couple chassis.
Here's what we came up with.

Now he's got go fast shocks with go fast travel in the rear (and soon the front...gotta do a little more work). The whole rear of the car has been re plumbed and wired. Plenty of storage space now...Travis is going to finish that up when he gathers all his **** together.

We still might add a spare tire carrier when he figures out what brand of tires he'll be running in the big show in a few weeks.

Its a 70 qt cooler.

Its almost race ready. I'm headed to Will's in the morning to build a bash proof front bumper. At RCQ and SMORR qualifier, I could have really used a nice front bumper to motivate some stubborn racers. I still have to paint some side panels, mark bolts, and mount brake and amber lights in the new panel. Its running really strong after the new torque converter and new tuning, but its only on 35" tires also.

No more sticky boggers for me, I think the 35s will give me the extra wheelspeed I need for KOH.

I took some pics, but left my camera at the shop, so I'll load them up tomorrow.
