Looking to SAS the wife's 94 runner here soon. Been stockpiling parts so I have it all and can do it all at once. Question is who has done this and kept the rear coils springs? If so what kind and where did you get them I really would like to keep it coils if possible . Got a set from mark m but I think they are jeep springs and are to small for the stock yota mounts .....suggestions?

fj80 coils, and RUF.

I should add that i used coils from an fj that was equipped with a tow package. So they may be stiffer, i am not sure. I traded the rig to my buddy who sassed it using toyota 2nd gen springs, with a few leaves from a couple mazda or nissan pickup leaf packs. Sits almost perfectly level.

Of course there is the issue with the rear being far softer. But he still hasnt found any problems with it.

Yeah I'm just looking to run 33s so already had a RUf in mind. Just didn't want to do leaves in the rear like everyone else does

There are reasons everyone puts leafs in the rear. The stock geometry sucks, the mounts are too thin and rip off and the links are weak. I'm all for keeping coils but I'd hack all the stock garbage off and start over.

Notstock probably has the most experience in both road miles and wheeling miles of anyone on here with just what you are wanting to do. I've driven his rig, the rear suspension is fawking crap. He has a set of leafs waiting to go in...
