So after getting the divorce all done and over with
i scored my 4runner back from wifes dad that i sold to 4 years ago when i went into the marines.
This was my first truck ive ever bought with my own money in highschool and i had some great memories in it, like putting it on its side on 311 :awesomework:
it had 230xxx miles on it and overheating problems when i sold it to him.
i got it back with 2 holes thru the engine block
but it was nice of him to throw in a spare short block
I have always wanted to rebuild an engine from the ground up.
So i went to work on it and pulled it out and got it all disassembled.
Pretty much the whole thing was toast besides the efi **** and the sensors.
i got a new head for it of cl for 50$ in great condition! 119 k on it.
I was going to build it up and get some more HP out of it, but lost my job
So I ordered a rebuild kit off ENGBUILDER for 209$. Just got my crank machined 20/20 under, and getting my rods and caps matched, should be done by the end of the day.
So after i get the motor running its off to some mild wheeling, its got a 4" trailmaster ifs lift, and 32" bfg mud terrains in great shape. After i find a new job this thing is getting SAS'ed. Depending on how good of a job it is it will either be leafs all around. Or linked :cheer:
but most likely just some leafs
Here are some pictures of the motor build and the old motor.
my pudry oil pan :redneck:
