5.3 vortec options

I am building a jeep for brother who is afganistan. He has a stock 5.3 with 17,000 miles on it. I want to put a cam in it but i dont know what to go with it can anyone give me some ideas.

I am running an LS6 cam in mine, definately wakes the motor up...especially for the price, they can be had pretty cheap on any of the LS1 type websites.

only thing I did was had them milled 30 thou. for a little more compression. It will still run 87, but runs a little better on 93....atleast by seat-O-pants meter.

Stock it and hold it to the floor, worked for me. Couldn't tell a difference between 5.3and Ls1

I told Aaron I thought the Z06 cam would be the ticket. Cheap, easy to find, and plenty of power.
