I just finished a six Plano swap in my dad's bug you with the Camince Springs. We had Jim's performance do the wiring harness and programming. It starts awesome runs awesome but after it warms up it will not idle like the idol a set just a little bit too low in a dice want to headset real low range. Is there anything I can do or do I need to send the computer back and have the idol adjusted?

Please excuse any typos talk to text on the way to work!

hook up a scanner and see if you have any codes. Could be a lot of things other than the tune.. MAF reading, O2's or exhaust leaks affecting the O2 readings, vacuum, etc. All metered air should be post MAF, if not it can affect your fuel trims.

If that is the case...

Here is my experience. I did a cam swap and head job on a 5.3 and went to Jim's fro harness and tune. He assured me he could get me a good tune in the computer for the cam as "he had done them with similar specs". Well I had the same issues you are having (it sounds like). It would idle fine. However VERY rich. It would foul plugs in 10 minutes. When you gave it WOT, it would not come back to idle. Simply shut off. He gave me all kinds of excuses and things to try (drill hole in throttle body, block this, block that). Nothing worked. With 1 day to spare before my trip to Harlan (set up meeting on easter Sunday also) I was able to get a custom tune from V8muscle.net which is local to me. We did a in car tune. Drove the buggy around and saw what it did at different aspects (wot, idle, etc).

Basically what I am getting at is...Jim's can give you a base tune to crank it on. But if you want it to run right just go ahead and prepare on paying for a custom tune.

That's the same convo I just had with him. Loll. But I do have a vaccume hose off. It doesn't seems to run to rich and returns to idle. So I wil have to connect that and if it doesn't work maybe go custom. Did he have you check specs with a scan tool

Yes. And the vacuum is not going to fix it I don't think. But it could cause an issue. Hope it works out for you. But, just be prepared to have to take it elsewhere.

So the throttle body had been polished and I got to thinking that maybe the stop screw on the throttle had been removed to be polished. It was set to 0 so I turned it a couple turns and it seems to be running fantastic. Hope that's all it takes. Didn't want to dish another 250 out for programming.
