If that is the case...Here is my experience. I did a cam swap and head job on a 5.3 and went to Jim's fro harness and tune. He assured me he could get me a good tune in the computer for the cam as "he had done them with similar specs". Well I had the same issues you are having (it sounds like). It would idle fine. However VERY rich. It would foul plugs in 10 minutes. When you gave it WOT, it would not come back to idle. Simply shut off. He gave me all kinds of excuses and things to try (drill hole in throttle body, block this, block that). Nothing worked. With 1 day to spare before my trip to Harlan (set up meeting on easter Sunday also) I was able to get a custom tune from V8muscle.net which is local to me. We did a in car tune. Drove the buggy around and saw what it did at different aspects (wot, idle, etc). Basically what I am getting at is...Jim's can give you a base tune to crank it on. But if you want it to run right just go ahead and prepare on paying for a custom tune.
