Well, I recently retired the Bronco from towing duties and got an 85 Suburban with the Banks sidewinder kit on it, J series intake, and I assume the fuel was cranked up when the turbo was installed, but I had to crank it up a bit more.
Today was the first time I've towed with it, out to Elbe, and I noticed when in third gear, it makes a strange noise any time I give it more than 1/4 throttle. . Sounds kind of like a vacuum with an air leak...(best I can describe it). :redneck: It only does it in third. Because of this I was fearing it might be the tranny, but a buddy mentioned it might be turbo surge.
Does anyone have any experience with this setup? I plan on changing out the 3" exhaust for 3.5" and deleting the muffler. Is this going to affect anything? Make the turbo surge (if that's what it is) any better or worse?
