I'm wanting to swap my 6.2L drive by wire to a cable. Has anyone done this before or is it even possible??

What ECM are you using? Don't quote me on this but I don't think any of the 6.2 ECM's had the circuitry to run an IAC. That being the case, you would need to swap the computer and associated harness with it. Same situation I'm in.

Not sure which computer it is, i know it came out of a 09 or 10 model Denali truck. i know it can be done on earlier model engines but not sure about these. Will a older ECM even run a 6.2L? :dunno:

With all the right wiring and sensor modifications an older computer will run the newer engine. (Not the VVT though.) There are a lot of considerations and details to worry about when you start trying to run an engine with a non-stock computer. Its a huge PITA, most wouldn't consider any gains that come from DBC worth the cost and work.

Does your ECM look like this?

Just did a little research. The easy answer to your question is no, DBC not feasible using either of those ECM's.

You would need an LS1 ECM, harness, adapt or swap the incompatible sensors, adapt the harness, get rid of VVT, custom programming, DBC throttle body, etc. all just for DBC.

sounds like a nightmare! looks like i will be sticking with what ive got, thanks for the info :dblthumb:
