i was wondering where exactly to weld the spring hangers and shackles on my 1990 4runner for a 63 leaf swap. ive tried lookin it up and cant find it.

i was looking in the toyota bible for you, then i realized they reference around 9 inches from the existing leaf spring hanger, which you don't have. I think your best bet is to drop a plumb bob from the centerline of your fenderwell, after you have the fronts tacked in set your shackle angle somewhere in the 15-30 degree range at ride height and you should be golden.

I know pirate 4x4 has a ton of info on this topic. really helpful when i did mine. If I remember right the rear hanger was 4" towards the rear then the stock location. Check on pirate to be sure

This is how I did the ford springs in my last truck, only way to go IMO.

he's got a 2nd gen runner, he's currently linked in the rear so he doesn't have old hangers to go off of:redneck:

:mad:so do i need to measure my leafs as if they were flat so wen the tires stuffed it sits in the middle of my fender well instead of hitting the rear of the fender?

What I did was build the mounts, tacked them where I thought I needed them, bolted the axle/wheels/tires up, then stuck 4x4's under the rear of the frame and put weight on it. Made sure wheel was centered and then it was easy to figure the shackles out.
