I just got a suburban with the shifter inside the tranny broken, what normally goes on this? It was pulled into gear on a steep hill and broke. the linkage outside the tranny is intact, and when the engine is started it makes alot of noise from the tranny like its almost in park. Let me know what it most likely is or what to look for when I take the pan off. Can it be fixed without tranny removal?

As long as the cogged drum isn't damaged you can fit it without pulling the tranny but--you might have to pull the valve body sean.

thanks mike. I pulled the pan and the shifter pin out the side. I have to pull the rear bracket off of the shift rod that attaches to the plate that pivots on the shift rod. It wont change gears as it is now with the load off the park gear and the t-case in neutral on my trailer. When it stops raining I will look into it further. Thanks again mike.

So you'll be back working on it July 5th?:flipoff:
You gotta set up that metal tweaker tent. At least it would keep the rain off of you. Your skeleton tweaker tent with half a tarp aint cuttin' it anymore. It's hard for people to offer to come help when you're working in the gravel and mud in the pouring rain:booo:

I bet if he took out the slider on the deck and made some ramps he could fit it in the dining room:clappy: watch tv while working on the rigs:clappy:

You guys suck. I am not that much of a redneck. besides I already measured and the dining room is only 14ft deep. I would need at least 18 to close the slider when its inside. If I did that where would I store my quads?

Just knock out the wall in the kitchen.:redneck: And yes you are that much of a redneck, as am I. Best part about it would have a built in heater.
:redneck:

that is true. I like the heat the older I get. Used to be I would be wearing shorts and a t shirt till it hit freezing. Now I am cold when it dips fridgidly below 60 degrees. I think I am in the midst of the change, I am almost 34.

So whens the work party (BS convention) to put up your metal tweaker tent?

As for the rest of this thread...thanks for the laughs:haha:

What parts do you need sean?
I need the shaft that the shifter hooks to and goes into the tranny, and the 7 tooth plate it goes thru. I also need the rod that goes back to the park gear. It is bent, but I might be able to straighten it. the other pieces I have to have. THey are hogged out from yanking on the shifter. Let me know what you have or can get mike, thanks.

All fixed and it only cost me the money for a filter and the fluid. I got the parts for free. It runs ok probably needs a tune up.
