Check the flapper on the MAF sensor...Also make sure its plugged in :;

I will run for a full min then die?? or are we talking just a couple seconds then it dies???

That happened to my friends once, and like Crash said, it was the MAF. I had to literally cut the silicone off, pull it open, and clean it out in there because someone it had gotten a good amount of water in there. Difference being, his would start and only run for a few seconds then die, nowhere near a minute.

Ive seen coils do weird things after theyve been used for a little while (got warm), so you might try checking spark with an inline spark checker to make sure your spark doesnt die off on you.

The fact it runs for a whole min before it dies baffles me.

OK, sorry to get back to ya so late. I had a similar problem with mine except it would only run for a few seconds, so i dont know if this is going to be any help. Turns out that a wire connector came loose between the coil/igniter and the computer. It was not like the wires were just hanging there, though. The connector looked to be making connection but it wasn't. With my hand i went around to all the connectors and squeezed all of them untill i ran across one that squeezed together another quarter of an inch. Now it runs fine, and i have it held together with zip ties, not just the little "snap lock" on the connector. Anyways, just something to check. Let us know what the problem is when you find out, though. I'm curious...

Did yah unscrew the screws on the MAF? (If no, dont!)

If yah did, its time for a disassembly and resolder the electrical leads you tore and may not know. Like T.J. said, cut into the silicon and fix the two leads you tore.

If thats not it, manually hold your MAF open with a screwdriver and see if it continues to run. Manually opening it will allow the fuel pump to run.

Other ideas... could be a floating piece of Silicon in your fuel? (Kind of doubt that)

ya i got gas in the tank. no did not cut into the maf, i just changed it and it did the same ,i even chanced the fule psi reg the same. i will have to check the connectors. but i think i going to get read of it and countinu to build my 4 runner. Thanks if i fing the problem i will let you all know. :mad: :mad:

alot of times a poor working fuel pump will work that way , you can get it to start with fluid and it will only run for a little while then die ??

Check for any holes in the under side of to tube that runs from the throttle body to the MAF. Any little hole will make it do this.
