If anybody knows let me know please.. is the toyota auto trans even worth a crap or is it a great tranny? are the 35's too much for the setup? its ifs and if I got it I would sas it.. also curious on the v6 with the same question. Hows the power with 35's as well if anybody has that answer..:corn: :corn:

the v6's are notorious for blowing headgaskets. the auto definately isn't as strong or reliable as the manual weather it's a v6 or 4 banger. However with 35" tires and stock gearing the auto will turn the tires easier, the v6 will also turn them easier, although not enough to justify the v6 or the auto.

SAS kit will run you $1000-$1500 depending on who you buy it from. that does not include a front axle.:;

1000-1500 if I want the super kit but a sas can be dont for way cheaper. just depends how you go about it is all..

Honestly after driving my stock V6 4Runner and my girlfriends stock 4 cyl 4Runner, I dont really see the point of the V6. Harder to work on is one of the biggest things to me.

The V6 feels exactly like a 22RE up until about 3500 RPMs, then it kicks in with some more power. But most of the time, youre in too high of a gear and you have to downshift to get it into the power band just like a 22RE.

Her 4 cyl now has 35s with stock gears, and it goes ok. The V6 would probably turn them better after the 3500 RPM mark with the kick of power though. It would probably feel about like what the 4 cyl did with stock tires at that point.

As for the auto, I have no idea.

Ive got the 3.4 with auto rolling 35x14.5's..It does the job fairly well, but if your expecting to accelerate with any kind of impressive speed, this is not the combo for you. Freeway can be a bit annoying as well..The tranny has a real hard time trying to decide what gear it wants to stay in, and if you hit the gas with any hope of picking up speed fast..wrong-o

its def got more power than a 4Cyl with the same setup, but nothing to write home about.
