90 toyota 4 runner

hello i have a 90 4 runner 3.0 v6 it had a automatic in it i took that out and put a 5 speed in it and i put hubs on it last winter the four wheel drive would not work so i messed with the vaccume suff on the left fender and it started working so this year i went and locked the hubs in to go play in the snow and the front end makes a grinding sound than a bang it sounds like the front end is going to fall out of it and it pulls really bad to the left and if i unlock the hubs it is fine any help wood greatly appreciated thanks alot gordy

I would check your hubs first, could you have someone outside of the rig listen to where the noise is coming from?

i could try it someone told me that the 4 wheel drive light has to work or the four wheel drive wont work right is that true

i did not think so just trying to figure this out with out spending a bunch of money all of my friends tell me to just straight axel it i just dont have the money for that right now
