After 3 years of sitting, my brother's old blazer is coming back to life. Greg (mudmeyhem101) was looking for a cheap vehicle to start wheeling with again, so we decided to bring this back to life.

Current Rig details:
  • 91 Chevy Blazer, V6-4.3 161k miles
  • No Transmission, No Transfercase
  • SAS up front with dana 30 :puke:
  • Chevy 10 bolt in rear
  • YJ springs up front, wagoneer in rear :puke:
  • Locked front (welded with hub disconnect inside cab)

Planned ideas for this summer:
  • 33 or 35 tires
  • Weld the rear 10 bolt
  • swap out springs with Chevys f/r
  • find a 700r4+tcase
  • driveline for the front axle
  • winch
  • cage

Planned ideas for winter / beyond
  • Rockwells
  • 40 or 44" tires
  • hydrolic steering

Heres some history on her. We got this rig back in '04 from our uncle who was the first owner. had about 150k on it. It was pretty nice:

But my brother hacked it up pretty good. After doing a SAS and running out of money and energy to build a steering linkage. It sat like this for a while. (picture is from July '07 when moving it from its old location to its resting spot for the next two years):

It sat deep in the back of my backyard, rotting away, until we pulled it out last night. It wasn't too difficult, the hardest part was hi-lifting it to steer, since the front wheels weren't connected:

You might not notice from those pictures, but the cage job on this was worthless. Its about good enough to be a jungle gym for some young (and skinny) children. So that was first to come off:

Yah, I'd TRUST this in a rollover. (HA):

After we cut the cage off, vacuumed all the shiz out of it, she cleaned up quite nice!

So next came the big question... would she start? It was last started just before moving it in July '07. It hadn't really been ran for over 3 years.

Thats how far we got on day one. Hopefully tomorrow update with getting some steering linkages made so we can move it around the shop easier.
