92 4-Runner problem, check engine light is on and barely runs....

The damn thing is pissing me off. The check engine light will come on intermittently and when it does the engine will run rough, but as soon as you give it gass it really craps out. I cannot pull a code either?? I even took it to a mechanic to see if I was doing something wrong when getting the code , he couldnt get i tto come up either. He said it could be the computer?? The Engine only has 8,000 miles on it, just changed the plugs and wires, they were junk. It was doing it before I replaced them. I actually thought it had ran out of gas to start, or the filter was plugged. I changed the fuel filter just because. Anyone have the same problaem?? Any ideas?? Im not going to leave it at the shop just to rack up a 2,000 dollar bill. I can start and stop the engine (start the truck and turn it off) and eventually it will clear the check engine light and runs perfect.

sounds to me like the computer too
when you where trying to pull the code was the check engin light on or off. was there ant soft codes? if so what were they?

it also might be fuel pump going out. that wont set off a code that you can pull on the computer i dont think. you need to check fuel presure while it is running like ****. refer to your manual to find out what exact PSI it should be at

I went through and wiggled all the connections I could and it is different now. The light goes out after about 30 seconds , I think it may be a connection. The codes come up as normal, one of the plugs was pushed down and we werent getting a very good conection I guess.
