99 S10 blazer 10 bolt rear-end

We have a 99 S10 blazer inthe shop. The rear pinion has some play in it. It's a 10 bolt. Does the 10 bolt have a crush sleeve? Would we get away with just tightening the pinion nut?

Yes, 10bolts have a crush sleeve....you should be able to see that in a parts schematic on alldata or mitchell!!!:fawkdancesmiley:

Both kinds of 10-bolts in S-10's use crush sleeves.

Just tightening up the nut will probably end up with a comeback for noisy diff.
