Anyone know if i can use my AC inline cooler for an inline cooler on my Power Steering pump?
Its just chillin in front of my radiator still with nothing hooked up to it for last 6 months.
I know it will have to be hooked up to the return line but i wasnt sure if having freeon in there before would mess with the power steering fluid....

Thanks

IF your condensor doesn't have anything hooked to it, there's no refrigerant in it. I'd be more concerned with it flowing well enough than anything.

Is the condenser a flat fin (serpentine) style, or round tube style??? If it's serpentine, p/s fluid is thicker than refridgerant, and it may well be restrictive, not recommended....If it's tube style, you can flush out the condenser with cooler flush in a can-blow it all out with shop air, and use it...

I know theres nothing in it.
Just not sure what happens to the freeon that was in there casue all i did was cut the lines and let it drain. didnt empty the condensor or anyhting.

Would the old freeon possibly block the flow of the powere steering fluid?

I believe it is the round tube style. I dont have a serpentine belt. (3.slow)
Was at walker yesterday and i heard sumthin boiling when we stoped for lunch so im hoping this will help a bit.
I will flush it out and see if i can get a smooth flow.

Thanks :awesomework:

R12 boils at about -20, it turned into a gas just like the rest when you cut the lines. Flushing it it out like kev said would be a good idea to get any remaining oil out of the system though.

Not talking about the belt style....I'm talking about the condenser tube style....
