I bought a used truck out of Ohio. Truck was advertised with fuel dump tank in the bed. When I got the truck fuel dump tank was missing. So I called the Dealer I bought the truck from. He swears up and down the truck shipped with the fuel tank. He says he will look into it and I will be getting a new fuel tank regardless. Well months have gone by and still no tank. Now he is dodging my calls. Any call I make from mine or my wife's phone goes ignored. He also will no longer reply to my emails.

WTF to do other than drive 710 miles and confront him or say lesson learned?

Re: advise needed

There's not a lot to do there Steve. Basically anything legal would have to happen there. Post his number here. We will give him a call every so often and ask him about it for you.

However, I would be hard after the towing company. I'd report both to BBB, not that it really matters and leave them both a nice review on google and yahoo if they have pages.

Re: advise needed

Here is the thing he paid for the shipping. I did not even have to sign anything when I met the shipping company to get the truck. The cost of the fuel tank makes it small claims court. Not really worth a damn to pursue in my opinion.

Re: advise needed

Agreed on not worth pursuing. But, if you didn't have to sign to receive the vehicle the shipper is liable for anything. And, they should have insurance and what not to cover that. That's a pretty big deal with a shipping company. If it was just some nut job the guy paid to take it down that may be a different story. In any case, good luck and I imagine he will hear about it.

Re: advise needed

He even admitted that he reviewed the videos of the truck leaving his property with the tank. He said I would be receiving new tank and he would get reimbursed from the shipping company. Lots of yadda yadda promises and now I can't even get him on the phone.

Re: advise needed

Sounds about right. I was in the used car biz for 7 years and watched a lot of BS go down. Sounds like the typical car guy to me. How long has it been?

I called with no answer. Left a bullshit message about a truck.

Do you have any proof of y'all's agreement? If so, You know some one who is a lawyer who could write him a letter & get some results :****:

Re: advise needed

yep, fire him one last warning voicemail/email. Then plaster and smear name of business on every forum, friend, even his local paper. Hell i'm spiteful when it comes to a dishonest seller/person. I would send twice what the tank is worth just to get my tank. but really your better off to just caulk it up and say lesson learned. We have all been there. Good luck though.

Re: advise needed

I will try to call tomorrow when I have some window time.

Re:

I will waste minimum 2 hours of his time this week. I'm home from work with the kiddos and nap time is boring.

The craziest thing about this deal is your from down south and you bought a truck from the worst state in the rust belt lol. Hope everything works for you. If I have time I will go there Saturday, going to a swap meet not to far from there.
