does anyone have any experience with A/F ratio gauges? what kind and how do you like it? i have one from schucks and i don't really like it, looking for a new one?

thanks in advance:beer:

Innovate makes some good stuff. Key to AFR gauges is make sure it uses a wide band O2 sensor. The junk like you get at schmucks uses a narrow band which cannot accurately tell you much of anything.

the one i got from schucks taps into my stock 02 and takes a 0-2ohm reading. so should i get one that has it's own 02 or can i use a wide band 02 in place of my stock 02?

thanks for the link:cool:

damn after checking out that link i am not to sure i want to spend that kind of cash on my little 4cy. but damn those are nice gauges

The most basic one, the LC-1 works great and is only like under $200 or so. On some systems you can run the WB system in place of the narrow band but I would not. Just weld in a second bung for the WB.

I had one from Autometer a few years back. It was digital and I think about $75

The lc1 (and the guage sets that use them) have 2 programmable outputs.
You can program it to sue the same voltge range as a narrow band sensor, both for your efi and for a cheapo guage.
Not the best thing in the world, but it can be done.

care to explain this statement alittle better:rolleyes: ? if i bought the lc1 gauge set with a wide band 02 then i should be set huh? i will leave my stocker in there for my computer and put a wide band in for my A/F. any spot in my exhaust system inparticular that i should place the second 02?

The LC-1 has multiple outputs. One of the outputs is a simmulated narrow band output that is designed so that you can use the WB in place of the narrow band. Great idea but I've heard of many people who have had issues with trying to do this. Much easier and more straight foreward to just add a secon bung. There are directions for the LC-1 for installation location. Basically just don't put it on the bottom side of the pipe where water could condense on or before the sensor.
