Would love to take the wife away some where on vacation. Where's everyone's favorite affordable places to go? Are all inclusive so the way to go when going? Somewhere with beach and delicious alcohol is preferred.

We have gotten used to the all inclusive's, it's too easy to let some body all the work!!! We just got back from 6 days in The Dominican Republic. Punta Cana has reaaaaly nice beaches, food has always been good and unlike Mexico, the drinks are real drinks, not watered down. We will be going back for sure!

I went to Jamaica all inclusive! That was the the tits! It was at a Sandels resort, anything you wanted 24/7! All the food and booze you wanted, plus all the things at the resort! I know we really paid for it, but it was cool just picking up the phone and getting a steak brought to your door at midnight for free!

Costa Rica has been my favorite out of all I been to
Did you do all inclusive there? If so I where?

Riu Palace in cancun is really nice. Good restaurants and you have liquor and beer stocked in your room, refilled anytime you run out and you're in walking distance to everything in town. There is also a sister resort beside it you have access to.

We've stayed at Couples Negril, Jamaica a couple times. The place is a little dated now but that is the only downside imho. Lobster night, free water skiing/wakeboarding, catamaran ride to cliff jumps and an awesome beach are some of my favorite parts. Ricks Cafe and a Margheritaville are close. They rake the entire beach every morning and its a topless beach ;D

Have stayed in a few in Montego Bay, none I would brag about, but the pricing was great.
Cancun, stayed at a few there also, Riu was the nicest, I am old so the whole club thing is kinda done for us now, so we started going down to Playa Del Carmen, there we have stayed at the Riu Palace a good bit, love it, love the location, money well spent for sure, also like Sandos in Playa, pretty much one of the last resorts going down, it was really nice also, food was on par with Riu, Resort was just bigger and laid out different than most we have stayed in, long walks from one area to another. As I stated in picture thread, the last 3 Sept. we have chose the Royal in Playa Car, the resort is nicer than the rest, no limit on "Reserved Restaurant" dinners, food is better, all the balconies have hammocks on them, walking distance to 5th Avenue for evening adventures and local foods if you choose, rooms have hot tubes in them, robes, slippers, nightly bed turn downs... All the resorts we stay at have in room liquor/beer, only way we will roll, I gots to have a unlimited supply of Rum without having to stagger to the bats after hours.

Just got back from Playa Del Carmen and stayed at Riu Palace. It was really nice and everything was top notch. I would surely return again.

But also what are you calling affordable? We did the all inclusive resort for 2 people, 5 nights 6 days including airfare for a little over $3200.

Now you can do a 5 day cruise all inclusive but alcohol NOT included for $800-1200 depending on time you go. It actually could even be done cheaper if you search around and not picky on time of year. You could off set your drinks with cost savings.

I think food is comparable to better on the ships but it also depends on how bad you want to be on a beach. You have plenty to do on the ship also.

All inclusive is the only way to go! We usually book airfare and all. Takes care of transfers, tips, all you can eat and drink.
Have to agree with the RIU properties being nice as well. We've been to Cancun three times and Punta Cana once (beaches are awesome)
Thinking about trying the RIU in the Bahamas. Love the Bahamas but most resorts you can't get truly "all inclusive".....Mexico is hard to beat for the money!
Edit: We usually travel in the off season (late in year, hurricane season) just get travel insurance in case of bad weather. We've stayed in Cancun for 4-5 nights for $1200-2000 per couple at 4 star resorts. Damn y'all got me wanting to take a trip south!! :drinkers: :****:

For us All Inclusive is the only way to go, alcohol bill on a cruise would kill our savings, that being said, we fly free so affordable is $200-$400 a night "for 2".
We have stayed at the Riu in Cabos San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta also, they were equally nice, no one will ever go wrong with a Riu property. We have done several April trips, and always at least one in the fall, hurricane season. Of all our trips we only have had the opportunity for one hurricane party, it actually swung wide of Cozmel, but damn we had a blast in Playa watching it off shore.

Me and Steve (Rockwell 1 on here) are headed to ft. Myers this next week. I'm taking my bus and he just got a 38 ft. Fastech with two pinto 4 cylinders motors on it. Going to put it in the big drink and hit some big waves. We like the motorhome and camping way better than the all inclusive trips. You don't get babies as much, but we've been most everywhere and this suites us better. But the best place is Cobo down Mexico way. A little pricey but nice, real nice.

A few years ago we went to Punta Cana and loved it, I'd go back in a heartbeat, it was $3500 for 7 days, I would prolly go on a cruis again but I think all inclusive is the way to go

Thanks for all the suggestions. The wife and I are looking to go late Sept, and have never been anywhere. In the brochures, everything looks exactly like everything else. Hard to really know where to go. Looked at Fiji, but it was mega bucks. Considering maybe Saint Lucia? Anyone been there and have a suggestion?

Couples Sans souci Ocho rios Jamaica was a dam good time and more in the mountain area not as busy as Kingston and Montego Bay They also have a nude beach or you go to couples tower island for a full nude resort :cougar:

Went to Adventure spa palace in cancun about 9 years ago. We had fun, went to a couple of the mayan ruins, ate and drank ourselves stupid. Palace resorts has several properties there so for cab fare you can go to another resort for the day. We went to the one on cozumel one day. It was fun but I was on edge the whole time, being in a foreign country sketches me out a little.

I thought we were going to die 10 minutes after getting there, took a cab to the hotel, 2 lane busy highway, dude pulls out to pass a propane truck with a gasoline tanker headed towards us in the other lane. And down there, people move to the shoulder to let somebody pass, there is no wait until it's clear business. I still hate nissan sentras to this day.

. Your rite! Montego Bay is one of the main big city's, not really all that, I like Negril, or Ocho Rios, yea, the nude resort was rite beside ours, Hedonism, but not what you think, everything I seen was fat older people walking around with there tits dragging in the sand. Oh, if you ever go to Jamaica and have to ride in a taxi for awhile, you better be drunk or have a good nerve pill! It will scare the hell out of ya!

Sounds like bike rallies. The ole' lady thought it was a college girl tit festival. She soon found out the ones that want to show are generally the ones you don't want to see.

Went to the one in Jamaica for a honeymoon trip a few years back at a sandles.

Wyndham has some nice all inclusives that are reasonable in The Bahamas and Mexico. Playa Del Carmen in Mexico is my favorite

The key is to buy a few beers to go from the bar right outside of the airport.

"Ohhh Im going to drive in the opposite lane with cars coming and about 2 inches to spare on each side. Better honk my horn so we stay safe" :smoke:
