Great, I get my truck on the road for a total of 5 days, and on the way home from a little game of airsoft, it starts blowing white/gray/blue smoke like you wouldn't believe, pinging, rattling, and just in general running like ass. It's full of oil, temp didn't get above normal, did my 251 thousand mile motor just fall flat dead on it's face? I know it had a rear main leak, but I've been keeping watch of the oil, so it hasn't run out or come close to it.

Is the coolant full?

And don't mind jobless---he couldn't fix a broken bicycle :awesomework:

Yeah, coolant's full. It's a bit over on oil (apparantly what I was parked on at lunch wasn't as level as I thought, and I got a tad over zealous). I was farting around on the little easy trails (more overgrown fire roads) where we were playing looking for a new spot for an hour or so before hand and the temp was fine and no smoke.

Full of coolant and oil huh? Did it accidentally ingest any small rodents/birds/children? :redneck:

The smoke had to come from something. Let it cool, pop the rad cap off, and start it up. Let us know if it overflows or blows bubbles right away.

Were you facing down a steep hill when it happened?

Did you drive it farther? Did the smoke & running like ass continue or get better?

I was on level ground when it started, pulled off the side road I was on, hit third and glanced up at the mirror and saw a cloud behind me, it would quit when I got rolling and could get out of the throttle. I drove the 2 miles or so home, then my dad took it for another half mile or so to try and diagnose it. It didn't start running like really till I pulled onto my road, then it started pinging and rattling, I guess it got worse when he took it because it wasn't HORRIBLE when I got home.

This is a thin possibility, but check the brake fluid see if it's leaking into the booster therefore into the engine via the vacuum assist?

The other option is that one of your gerbals has indigestion or wants to renegotiate his contract..:redneck:

Pfff, they're squirrels damn it!

The brake fluid does look lower than I remember having after doing the brakes, and I got grey smoke lighting some of the same brake fluid I used, that may be it.
