The only other thing I can share is when I measure my 14b I've got about 12.5" from the center of the pinion to where the inside of the link mount would be. On my sd60 I'll have about 8". This means the pinion of the 60 is roughly 4.5" farther from the engine centerline than a 14b would be and I'm not sure yet if I can run a 1 piece ds. Clearance of the bellhousing is probably going to be what dictates that, not to mention links and such.


Here's the view from the pinion looking back to the transfer case. I flipped the pic to help illustrate. Figure with a 14b front, the pinion will be about 4.5" further to the right. This is with a 6.0, th400 and atlas.


Like I said, I'm sure it's possible but you'll need to be considerate of all of your clearances.

Now for the disclaimer, I've never built a 14b front. I was planning on it but for the sake of time and $$$ I abandoned it for the time being. I did do quite a bit of research and my opinions are mostly derived from that. Whatever you do, post pics... we like pics. :dblthumb:
