JT just called and said Tom Guaraldo died today while testing their buggy for the Ram Offroad Challenge next weekend.

No helmet, no seatbelt.

No details other than that.

...I don't think anyone should die at 27 so it saddens me despite personal issues with the guy.

This is the Ride Motorsports guy... Matt and I built the chassis for it

That sucks , all I knew about the guy is what I read online , but regardless thats a tragic thing to go out with so much life in front of you. :(

RIP Tom :-\

That sucks. I no longer get in my rig or any others without belting up. Too much **** can go wrong in open top rigs

Seat belts are a must, and helmets make you that much safer. I think Doc rolled his in his shops parking lot a while back and brused his person pretty good. I have had a few close calls, two pretty ruff rolls One endo and one barrel roll ,both just the lap belt ,both no helmet ,both some type of injury to the head, both just messing around and never thought twice about rolling. Everytime I go and ride I always make sure I tell the wife I love her, because in our sport accidents happen.
His family will be in my prayers.

Yeah, he told me about that a while back. That roll was pretty bad and scared him as well. He got pretty banged up from it too.

Dude that sucks. :( I met the guy in Hannibal and he seemed pretty cool. He was very a talkative guy.

No seatbelt part is what upsets me the most, such a simple thing would have saved so many lives.

Bummer. I have a friend that almost died last year in a roll. He was just moving his truck (at night) on a trail that he thought wouldn't pose any risk at all. He ended up rolling, falling out of his truck, and the slider was poised to cut him in two except for the fact that a 2" sapling was just barely able to balance the truck on two tires and he crawled out. (BTW, he was sober.) Planning to belt up just before things get dangerous isn't any smarter on the trail than it is on the highway.

Having said all that, RIP.

DAMN THAT SUCKS, HOW MANY MUST LOSE THEIR LIVES BEFORE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT SEAT BELTS ARE NOT AN OPTION... IT CAN HAPPEN ANY TIME, ANY PLACE.

... from KDRO one of the local TV stations in Co Springs

"BLACK FOREST - A recreational Sunday afternoon turned deadly when 27-year-old Thomas Guaraldo Jr. was killed after his A.T.V. rolled over. It happened on Old Barn Road just North of Hodgen Road.

Police say Guaraldo was traveling south when he lost control and rolled 3/4 time. He was ejected and the A.T.V. rolled over him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The use of drugs and alcohol is unknown, pending toxicology tests."

I feel "naked" when I don't have a belt on. :dunno: I try my best to make sure that I am wearing one if the vehicle is moving.

Hate to hear it. It happens when you least expect it.
