I just purchased a 6.0 motor. I haven't started trying to put it in yet. I'm going to run a 350 trans. Where do you hook up the vaccum for the transmission and the power brakes? There doesn't appear to be many vaccum ports like on the old style motors. I would appreciate any input. Thanks!

if it has a truck plenum on it, and not drive by wire there is a port on the throttle body. if its drive by wire there is a port about half way down the plenum behind the bolt hole for the engine cover that can be used

some intakes on the 6.0 have what look to be twist off vacuume ports, I did not use these, I used the port that has a quick release plug as stated above

it is out of a 03 HD truck drive by wire but I swaped the throttle body to a drive by cable off of a van . I looked again tonight and I still couldn't find one, and what do you do with the thing right behind the throttle body that looks like a plastic fuel line?

Here are a few pics for Neal

the vacuum line that is unhooked can be cut and sliced into for your buster and or you can remove the green cap and put a t there

so the thing with the green cap is just a vaccum line and I can just split it and run my booster and trans both off that?

on your last picture there is a plug with a red ring on the top rear of your intake, you push the red ring in and pull out on the plug [ you may have to push the ring and plug in together and then hold the ring and pull out on the plug] and it will come out . you can use that for your vacuume for your trans and brake booster. I forget the name of the valve on the front of the intake, it has something to do with purging air, you should not need it, I have did away with them on a couple of engines, you can pull it out and block it with a freeze plug or leave it and put a vacuume plug on it. to get the plastic line off of it push the clip that is holding it on to one side and it will come off, very simple once you figure both of these out hope this helps

the line with the green cap is for the evap system on a stock truck prolly not needed on a trail truck

thanks alot I appreciate the help I am glad there are people like yall who have already done this swap and willing to help

what goes in the hole after you take out the plug in the back
you can drill and tap the plug for a male pipe thread to a barbed end. some 5.3 engines have the plug that already has a vacuume hose attached [ you may have already figured this out by now, maybe this will help]

Thanks alot. I may have decided to just run manual brakes. I found the vaccume port on the side where the trans will hook up. Any more suggestions for stuff I might need to look for while doing this swap would greatly be appreciated.
