ok so I took the front end down to just the housing and all the shafts are good the splines in the arb are good but when I try to lock up the front end the front end just grinds. could the arb go before the weak dana 30 shafts or the cv I mean I only have 33"s on my jeep I just dont get it the weak point is the shafts.

Your o-rings could have taken a dump on you. That would let the air pressure slip into the housing rather than letting it actuate the locker.

well I had the cover off and engaged the locker, the pump ran and then quit like normal and when i turned it off it dumped the air like normal, but when locked it still grinds its like it holding the air in but its not engaging the locker completely like the gears inside the arb are just barely touching. If that makes any sense.

Contact ARB about it. Some of their lockers has a new design piston. Yours might be one of them.

My bad. While following this thread on another board I came away with a misunderstanding.

sorry about that, Ya it is wierd that the arb out of all things is what failed. I dont wheel all that hard and only have 33''s with stock shafts, so first thought was broken or twisted shaft but all is good so it has to be the arb I just dont know what failed in it and why it would fail before I broke a shaft or a cv.

all is good in the world once more!
I brought the locker back to arb and with out a hesitation they tore it down and had it fixed, ( side gear, I think I might have been a little hard on it ) but putting it back together and gonna go out this weekend to make sure its all good.

Right awn :awesomework:

Even though they are sometimes a little finicky they are still the best locker out there.
