So there is a crack forming at the base of a link mount on the rear axle. The crack is in the axle material it self, so the weld fill material is attached to the mount and is pulling out of the axle. The crack is about 1/2" long.Using a 220 MIG, how should I prep the crack for repair? Should I weld it as hot as possible, melt the **** out of it, or turn it down and start at one end and slowly work the puddle throught the crack?
