B.O.M. numbers /14 bolt identifaction

I know BillaVista has the Dana 60 Bible and links for identifying them but I've searched around and ant find one like that for the 14 bolts just trying to identify the one I got so when I order parts for it I know I'm ordering the right ones

They do not, cause we were looking for an odd length axle shaft at RBD.

We have found some odd length axle shafts in 14b's through the years but i haven't had any problem swapping carriers, pinion supports or hubs between housings..

Ok I had found some numbers stamped into the tube like a Dana but had been able to fi d what they mean and some of the bolt on disc break kits have three different options why I was Wondering a I haven't measured yet but mine looks to be slightly longer on one side I'll get some pics tonight

there is also a difference in pinion supports, pinion bearings have 2 sizes

there are different brake kits due to the hub differences, you can swap cab and chassis hubs on truck or van axle and make it narrower or truck hubs on a cab and chassis housing to make it wider.. how about post up some pics of the housing your working with and we'll help you identify what you need…

Here's the numbers I was talking g about don't know if they mean anything but figured I'd post em and not to thrilled the shaft are different. Bbut I would bet the something else would break before and axles running a 22r with em

Long as you ain't running stickies, you'll prolly never break one. I've seen stock ton shafts break pretty easily under grip of stickies and torque of dual cases while crawling, but can't remember if it was a 60 or 14b rear.

My pockets ain't deep enough for stickies unless they were free fiddy then I could afford that ;D but still trying to figure out what its out of or a reference I can use cause the part stores guys are lost when I say 14 bolt

that is definitely a newer style housing, i think those started in 88 or so… someone please correct me on that… those housings are a little nicer than older ones, some say the axle tubes are thicker but the casting is definitely way beefier.

most parts guys will know what your saying if you tell them you've got the housing with all the ribs.

post a pic of the hubs if you don't care, I can't really tell what they are..

Thanks and here ya go bro and I'm fixing to return to the part store trying to get the right socket to get the hubs off with hopefully third times a charm

you don't need a special socket just take the snap ring off pull the key out then small hammer and punch very light tap and the nut will come loose I have done hundreds of them this way works every time
 
Those look like regular truck hubs to me so i think this is the brake bracket you need http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/14BSRW.html

x2 on the hammer and chisel to take the hub nuts loose, some 14b's have a little snap ring that holds a key in to retain the outer nut others have tab washers like dana front axles..
 
So without a socket are you guys just tightening until snug and then backing them off an 1/8th or so when reinstalling bearings? I have mine out now and planned to buy socket so I could torque them "properly".

Also.....I agree with the axle being "newer". My truck is a 2000 model just went and looked and it has the "ribbed" top like the pictures you have show. My 1985 axles under my YJ do not have the same ribs.
 
Are all of the late model finned housings supposed to be disc brakes.

Obviously this one has drums, but which ones came with discs.

I got mine out of an 05 truck and it has discs.

The 88-00 c/k2500-3500 had drums with the finned housing
01+ "Silverado" had discs


Zak what is the WMS width of that axle?
