So My T/R aluminum beadlocks always seem to have a water puddle behind the ring at the bottom of the rim. You would think that after time this has got to lead to corrosion down where the bolt flanges are welded on.

Before I assembled the wheels I dipped the flanges in Alodine to try to hold off corrosion for a while. I'm thinking about drying them out and spraying LPS or Corrosion X in there.

Anyone have any old T/R beadlocks with corrosion in this area ? Ever heard of a problem ? Nothing to worry about ?

This is REALLY bugging me. Thanks!!

Just drill a hole in the wheel so the water drains out, and practice driving up and down your driveway until all the wheels stop in the same place with the hole pointing down :D

Thats an interesting "problem" that I had never thought about before. Probably no big deal though.

I always stick some rags in the wheel to soak up the water when I park it

Galvanic corrosion...

Nothing to worry about dude...just dab some shop rags down in there after a good washing and take it for a spin...then park.

Unless you drive continuously in the ocean and then let it sit for great lengths of time there is NOTHING to worry about.I have dual BL so I two puddles in my wheels.....usually I throw down with some doughnuts in the street in front of the house then park that sucka. I've seen some old ass TR BL (some of the first built) and they were fine.

Thanks Guys. Always priceless info off this BBS.

I think I'll do the rag thing and not worry about it.

Good to hear its a non-issue.

My wheels are like 5 years old now--I have never done anything to get the water out and--they still work perfect--even if the rings look like somebody took a hammer to them,lol..

i have allied beadlocks. They puddle as well I just wipe em down and Liquid Silicone Spray them and it keeps them from rusting. I don't know for sure if you can do that with aluminum but why not.
