Tony has an external slave set-up that came off of a 97 4cyl TJ.

Question #1 what tranny came with a 4 banger?

#2 will a 4 cyl bell housing bolt up to my AX-15 and 258 block?

#3 if not anyone have a bell housing that will or know what year to look for?

#2 no, unless you find a 1996-1998 Dodge Dakota truck with a 4cyl, and ax-15. BTW very hard to find,I looked for awhile.

As I said before, goto Olympic, they have the bellhousing for a 1995 or newer Jeep with an external slave. BTW you need the bearing retainer, and the master cylinder/slave setup. Ask for Jesse, he is the only one that won't give you the run around.

Question: Are the bellhousing bolt pattern the same between the 2.5 and the 4.2 or 4.0 ??

Since my Jeep was a 1997, it certainly qualifies as a "95 or newer". And it's verified that it's an AX15, so we can scavange all the bearing retainer stuff. Yes??

Question: What's the difference between that Dodge tranny settup and the Jeep tranny settup? Why look for a Dodge??

Thanks

so it is an AX-15?? If so then it should work.

Well, per Karl, it's an AX-15. So that side of the equation is okay. But will my bell housing bolt to your engine block? My motor was a 2.5 - 4 cylinder. Yours is an 4.2 - 6 cylinder.

The other option is, come on over, and let's unbolt this thing on my garage floor, and take it over to your house and see if it installs

D'oh! I guess I can't read! Sorry Jon, looks like you're SOL. Try calling that Olympic 4x dude. 800-752-9979. I've bought a lot of parts over the years from them, with good luck, but they're not the cheapest solutions. However, you will get what you pay for.

Actually I was stating it backwards, the Dodge has a 4cyl. with an AX-15(not a Jeep tranny bolt pattern with an AX-5), so it wouldn't have worked anyway. BTW the Jeep bolt pattern is round, and the 2.5 is the only different one that I know of, it is angled inwards, and flat on top. Also do you have the 4.2, or the4.0?? If you have the 4.2 they used the Ba-10, not the AX-15, so all of this wouldn't have worked anyway.

I have a 4.2, 1990 is the first year the AX-15 came with wranglers. I know for a fact mine is a AX-15

OK, just wondering, I don't know as much for the 4.2, except that it can be made awesome by using it's parts in a 4.0 to make a stroker. Everyone I know who has one hates it. I'd sell ya my setup, but I am sure you are looking for something cheaper.

I'm sporting a 4.6 stroker built by Jasper. :masturbanana[1]: Which is about the only thing keeping me from selling this fawker.:booo:
