Been working on the smith buggy and I've got to redo the bump stop mounts "everything bottoms out at full bump" I'm trying to keep it low as hell but don't want to low. What is a good number to deal with besides it being a monster truck? Here's the specs
60 front 14 bolt rear 42's half wore out ! Thinking when all said and done probably 40" treps At fully bottomed out without it hitting nothing on 42s I have 13" not sure what the numbers will be at ride height 14" shocks in front 16" in rear.

At full bump mines at around 10 inches with 110 wheelbase it drags on alot of stuff but is super stable.

Oh yeah 115" wheelbase. I want it low but not to low
Talked to Kelly about yours and he said it did really good that low. What is the belly clearance at ride height ?

Yours is a freak. The belly is so narrow you dont have too much trouble. The **** I've seen you get up and through and barely belly out on is way impressive.

When I build my next one it's gonna be the exact same subframe only change will be longer cab area and drivers side drop front axle. 14s front and rear. I was going to widen the cab but it's gonna stay the same. I am very happy with the performance of mine just wish it was a little more comfortable. Haven't decided on rear steer it would be nice but not at all necessary for what I do.

Belly height all depends on what I'm doing. Clayton around 16 to 18 koh around 21 to 23. When set for clayon it is the most stable buggy around, comp buggies aint got **** on mine it is retarded what it will do while still being stable

On trails at 115" wheelbase and that low what do I need my numbers at
@ 115, i'd think you'd want 18-19 if not a little higher. but you can go lower is you make up with it with speed :woot:

I was thinking around 20 at ride height but it's gonna drag on break overs. Get used to carrying the front end on ledges.

I got about 22" of ride height with 120 wheel base in my jimmy smith buggy...seems to work well but the bottom does hit and bars are bent :driving:

On the shocks how much shaft showing at ride height 14" front and 16" rear might have to go 16" in front

All dependant on chassi setup. Mines any where from 4 to 10 of shaft showing. I would shoot for half of stroke length so 7 and 8.

im runnin air shox and have 5 inches of shaft showing on the front (14 inch shox) and about 6 or 7 inches on the rear (16 inch shox)

Yeah that's what I was thinking gunna raise it up tonite and see what my numbers are with air in them! I've got no problem with hitting stuff hard and carrying the tires in the air!

and it looks good on camera, mine at riding pressure in the tires is around 20 inches under the belly and 7 inches of shaft showing all the way around with 14 inch shocks and 125 inch wheelbase and works pretty well

13.5" front 14" rear bottomed out
20" and 20 1/4 ride height
Will this work with 115" wheelbase

You're going to sell it before you wheel it anyway so sure it will work :flipoff1:

And you have room to talk :flipoff1:
